Mobile Display Unit

MDU I shadowThe Solent advanced motorcyclists group are lucky enough to own a mobile display unit (MDU) which is towed to various motorcycle events throughout the year.

The MDU is used to attract new members to the group who are interested in joining with a view to passing the IAM Advance Motorcycle test. It serves as a shop window and main form of recruitment letting everyone know what we do, and how they can become advanced riders.

I wonder how many of you joined after meeting us on the MDU somewhere?

Any visitors to the MDU are assured of a hot drink and a welcoming chat with like minded motorcycle riders. If you feel that advanced riding is right for you, then you're also able to purchase the IAM Skills for Life package from the SAM team who are always ready to answer any questions you may have.

The MDU can be seen at various locations across the region including Portsdown hill, Loomies. For the full schedule, please see the MDU schedule 2017 where the MDU is attending with a few new venues.

MDU V shadowThe MDU Manager is responsible for organising places to exhibit, arranging club volunteers and supporting Road Safety Events providing a welcoming base for refreshments.

The MDU has it’s own tea and coffee facilities, a generator for power and a TV for showing road safety DVD’s.

The MDU is also available for other road safety groups to hire.

For more information please contact David Quinney MDU Co-Ordinator for costs and availability by email MDU @solent-advanced-motorcyclists.co.uk
